Flexible Work

December 12th, 2007 by Heidi

I saw an article in the headlines on the internet today re a study that shows that a flexible work life is good for your health. I’m so glad more and  more is coming out about stuff like that because I think society has gone so far overboard in the opposite direction that it is about time employers wake up to the fact that it is NOT healthy to work yourself to death and not have time for children and family.

The article states that people who are allowed to job share and work from hom, are more likely to make healthier lifestyle choices, for example, they tend to exercise more.  Employers will get much more productivity out of happy, healthy workers than those who have no time, flexibility and freedom to create  a more balanced existence. Money is important but money isn’t the only thing that is important. If you have money but you don’t have your health or time to enjoy it then the money is worthless!

Flexible scheduling is not just a woman’s issue, this is important for men as well. Men want and need time away from work and time to live healthfully as well.

I seriously see that there will be a shift with the technological age to the majority of people working from home. People really want that and I think it will come about sooner rather than later.

Healthful Living is More Than Diet

December 12th, 2007 by Heidi

Healthful living is more that just diet. It’s important for people to get outside, exercise, listen to uplifting, calming music and do things they enjoy. Stop watching televsion. Television is very conducive to bad eating habits. The commercials entice people to want to eat more of the wrong foods. A person’s home should be clean and uncluttered.  The living environment should be condusive to health, healing happiness and vitality! As a family something we loved to do is sit outside, listen to the birds and eat fruit in the yard together! That is such a peaceful, yet simple and very fulfilling activity.
