So, what do you have planned to change in 2008? New Years resolutions are usually viewed as a bunch of stuff people vow to change but never manage to uphold anyway, so why make them? Perhaps this year instead of making a bunch of resolutions that you have no plan on keeping, why not to some real inner soul searching and make some real changes this year to make 2008 your best year ever? Instead of some superficial resolutions like losing weight and quitting smoking, do some inner reflection and decide to live your life fully and with passion. When you make real life changes, those superficial changes will happen anyway with ease. Have a year that you can really look back on with pleasure and accomplishment.

In looking for work that gives you flexibility and that you are passionate about, keep your options open. You nevcr know when an opportunity that presents itself might not seem like what you are looking for but that opportunity might lead you to that certain something or it might give you the added skills you need to unlock your passion within…

I saw an article in the headlines on the internet today re a study that shows that a flexible work life is good for your health. I’m so glad more and more is coming out about stuff like that because I think society has gone so far overboard in the opposite direction that it is about time employers wake up to the fact that it is NOT healthy to work yourself to death and not have time for children and family.
The article states that people who are allowed to job share and work from hom, are more likely to make healthier lifestyle choices, for example, they tend to exercise more. Employers will get much more productivity out of happy, healthy workers than those who have no time, flexibility and freedom to create a more balanced existence. Money is important but money isn’t the only thing that is important. If you have money but you don’t have your health or time to enjoy it then the money is worthless!
Flexible scheduling is not just a woman’s issue, this is important for men as well. Men want and need time away from work and time to live healthfully as well.
I seriously see that there will be a shift with the technological age to the majority of people working from home. People really want that and I think it will come about sooner rather than later.

What does your day look like? Today, my son is with his dad so I can actually veg out a little. The great part about that is that this is the perfect time to nurture myself. I can spend time doing things I love, going places or just relaxing…I’m not a big nap taker but if I feel exceptionally tired, I could even nap!!!
Sunday Oct 28, 2007
I will spend the morning relaxing, writing and taking a bath and then alittle later, I will go shopping for some groceries. Later, my son will be home and then things will get really busy!
I will write what my whole week looks like as a single mom and maybe some of you could share yours…

Money is merely an exchange of energy. Everytime you pay for anything, you should stop thinking of it as “money”(and some horrible thing you have to do), instead think of it as an exchange of energy. Try to silently think of anything you pay for as flowing energy…the flow has to continue in order for you to continue to receive money in the flow. Everything is simply an energy exchange. There is an unlimited amount of energy (including money) in the universe.
This is kind of a difficult thing to do because you think:
“yeah..but I have bills”
“I just don’t know what to do but the bills keep flowing”
“I never get a break”
I have been there and am still there in many respects but through meditation and affirmations, you have to find a way to change the way you think about money and bills. You have to break out of the stability and security of your life as you know it and be willing to live in more uncertainty in order to open yourself up to your limitless potential. This is not an easy thing but it is a thing that will so change your life for the better; it will blow your mind!

So, what are your biggest roadblocks to being a healthy, single mom? I think in this day and age, there is so much pressure put on moms that we really feel stuck on how to juggle everything properly. You have to take care of your kids financially but you feel guilty putting too much time and effort into a “job”. You also need to take care of yourself by doing things for you. How do you balance all of those things? I would love to hear what your obstacles are for living a healthy, balanced life trying to juggle all your responsibilities.
